It dates back to the X century but the current building dates to the XII century. Both the façade characterized by a bichrome decoration with white and green marble stripes and the marble doorway date back to the XIII century and they are attributed to Nicolò Pisano's school. It has an octagonal plan and it is covered by a dome maybe built by Brunelleschi. The inner part, stylistically very simple, is characterized by an altar overlooked by a Ascensione (1591), and by six niches in the walls. It holds a christening font by Andrea Sansovino which dates back to 1502.
