It was built to substitute the Longobard San Giusto in Botro Church demolished by the Balze's erosion. Its construction started under the Florentine architect Giovanni Coccapani's directions in 1627 but the works ended only in 1775. The church courtyard is bounded by four columns which support the terracotta statues of St. Giusto, St. Clemente, St. Lino and St. Ottaviano. The plan has one nave and the inner part, along with the façade, is stylistically very simple.
